In order to develop cooperation with Italy within the framework of the "Promotion of international partnership between companies and/or institutions working in the energy and environmental sectors" project funded by the Ministry of Environmental Transformation of Italy and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO (UNIDO ITPO), "Institute of Development of Electric Power Industry and Energy Saving" JSC of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Italian company "SPI Techno srl".
For reference: "SPI Techno srl" is engaged in the production of lamps for street and indoor lighting, and also has experience in the ESCO mechanism.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, is an Italian bureau for the Promotion of Investment and Technology, which was established in 1987 and is based in Rome. Its mandate is to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries through the mobilization of investment, as well as the transfer of technology and management skills, together with capacity-building activities necessary for the implementation of industrial projects and modernization of SMEs in developing countries.
Main activities: training and capacity-building activities; organization and implementation of study tours and technical assistance programs for the development of specific industries; promotion of the country and the industrial sector; dissemination of information about investment opportunities in developing countries, etc.
Within the framework of the online meeting, the parties discussed the issue of further cooperation in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency improvement in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
