On June 23, 2022, an Online Workshop was held on the topic: "Development of an ESCO Market in Kazakhstan: challenges and opportunities for international cooperation". The seminar was attended by: Adelheid Rehmann, Energy Economist/Sustainability Consultant, Berlin Energy Agency, Palmira Ugarte, Energy consultant in the energy transition and climate protection, Berlin Energy Agency, Alexander Belyi, Ph.D, Low-Carbon Development and Energy Efficiency Expert and Darkhan Kurmanbayev - Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, JSC "Electric power and energy saving development Institute". In speech, Darkhan Kurmanbayev shared the experience of ESCO development, problems and prospects in Kazakhstan. Also, during the seminar, the results of a new dena study "Development of the ESCOs market in Central Asia" were presented, supported by practical experience shared b representatives of international financial institutions (IFs). The envisaged exchange of views with the participants of the seminar made it possible to better understand the possibilities of international cooperation and discuss possible difficulties of future joint activities. The seminar was organized by the German Energy Agency (dena).
