REGISTER OF DOMESTIC MANUFACTURERS OF ENERGY-SAVING MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES

The energy intensity of GDP is the most common indicator of the energy efficiency of a country's economy. According to this indicator, the economy of Kazakhstan is a country with a high energy intensity. The success of energy efficiency policies depends on political will and an integrated approach. Therefore, it is necessary to continue developing and improving its energy efficiency policy.

In Kazakhstan, as is known, the low cost of energy resources. At the same time, the proportionally high cost of equipment, which, coupled with the low price of energy, forms a very high payback period for energy saving measures.

It is important to note that energy-saving measures may have insignificant economic benefits for a single enterprise, but on a national scale they can have a synergistic effect, leading to significant energy savings.

In this regard, in order to achieve energy efficiency improvements and further successful development of the ESCO market, it is necessary to create direct financial instruments and provide state support measures.

In order to organize a platform for initiating energy-saving projects, strengthen state and administrative support for business in the implementation of energy saving and energy efficiency projects, as well as the state of the domestic market, a Register of domestic manufacturers and suppliers of energy–saving materials, equipment and technologies has been formed (hereinafter referred to as the register).

Participants in the register are supposed to be representatives of private entrepreneurship acting in the form of energy service companies, as well as companies and owners of facilities planning to implement projects aimed at energy and resource conservation in various sectors of the economy. These can be lamps, automated heating points, boiler and pumping equipment.
The register is formed on the basis of the national operator of energy services JSC "Institute for the Development of Electric Power and Energy Conservation (Kazakhenergoexpertiza)" of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Institute).

Within the framework of the register of domestic manufacturers and suppliers of energy-saving materials, equipment and technologies, the Institute included 78 organizations as of 2022.

It is worth noting that all public-private partnership projects in the field of energy saving are implemented by domestic companies.
